Multispectral remote sensing
Spatial Scientific Pty. Ltd. offers high quality, high spatial resolution, four band multispectral imagery from Australia's industry-leading SpecTerra digital multispectral sensor. This sensor has a long history of successful data acquisition in Australia and overseas. It delivers outstanding results for a range of applications, including: vegetation health monitoring, precision agriculture, mine mapping and rehabilitation, forestry, and coastal zone mapping.
Full technical details about the SpecTerra DMSI can be found in the technical specification document.
Lidar (airborne laser scanning)
Lidar (also known as airborne laser scanning) is a remote sensing tool that is used to create highly accurate three dimensional maps of the ground. Lidar is used for terrain modelling, flood predicition, powerline surveys, stockpile mapping, vegetation analysis, tree height measurement, 3D city modelling, and many more applications.
Spatial Scientific Pty. Ltd. provides lidar data using a Riegl full wave form sensor to customers in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region. Please see our lidar website for more details.
Thermal imaging (FLIR)
Spatial Scientific Pty. Ltd. acquires and supplies airborne thermal imagery from a range of FLIR thermal imaging sensors. Airborne thermal imaging sensors are used to create georeferenced maps that can be directly correlated with temperature, enabling the creation of accurate "heat maps".
Thermal imaging is suitable for a range of different mapping projects, including: underground fire mapping and spontaneous combustion detection for the mining industry; urban heat island mapping; environmental monitoring and vegetation health assessment; bushfire mapping, monitoring and management; mineral exploration; and many more.

Medium format aerial photography
Medium format aerial photography can often be used as a cost-effetcive replacement for traditional large format aerial photography. More importantly, it is well-suited to niche applications where large format photography cannot be used, such as where very high resolution is required.
Spatial Scientific Pty. Ltd. can supply medium format aerial photography anywhere in Australia. Imagery can be acquired in natural colour, or colour infrared. Recently we have successfully undertaken two projects where ground resolutions as small as 1cm have been acquired.
Medium format aerial photography is suitable for many mapping applications, such as: environmental monitoring, coastal zone mapping, engineering projects, disaster management, and natural resource mapping.
Software development and systems integration
The staff at Spatial Scientific Pty. Ltd. have considerable experience in software development and systems integration. For many years we have been creating innovative solutions for a range of different challenges, such as mounting sensors on aircraft, building cameras for specific applications, developing end-to-end imaging systems, advising on data acquistion strategies, and developing custom designed geospatial software.
Systems integration and software development has now become a core part of our business. However, every new solution that we develop is unique, so please contact us for details of previous projects, or information about how we can help you.
